This article discusses the factors that affect the individual development of animals. There are two main groups of factors: genotypic (hereditary) and paratypic (non-hereditary). The consequences of the influence of the selected groups of factors on the animal's body, which can be expressed in various forms of underdevelopment such as embryonalism, infantilism and neoteny, are also given. Compensation and elimination of underdevelopment of animals is not always possible, but at certain stages there is a high probability of minimizing underdevelopment. The relevance of the topic currently lies in the fact that the influence of factors of individual development for cattle breeding is very high and important. Therefore, the study, control and regulation of factors is an obligatory part of the work of specialists in the field of animal husbandry.
Keywords: individual development, factors, ontogenesis, adaptation, hereditary and non-hereditary factors.
